Jerzy Karol Buzek (listen) is a Polish politician and Member of the European Parliament from Poland. He has served as Prime Minister of Poland from 1997 to 2001, since being elected to the European Parliament in 2004, he has served as President of the European Parliament between 2009 and 2012. He is married to Ludgarda Buzek and is the father of Polish actress Agata Buzek.

Petr Svoboda is a Czech former professional ice hockey defenceman who played 17 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Montreal Canadiens, Buffalo Sabres, Philadelphia Flyers and Tampa Bay Lightning. He was the first Czech to play over 1,000 games in the NHL.

Petr Nedvěd is a Czech Canadian former professional ice hockey player who spent 15 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). Most recently he played centre for HC Bílí Tygři Liberec of the Czech Extraliga.

Ladislav Rygl Sr. is a former Czechoslovak nordic combined skier who competed in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He won a gold medal in the individual event at the 1970 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Vysoké Tatry. He also competed at the 1968 Winter Olympics and the 1972 Winter Olympics.

Ladislav Rygl Jr. is a Czech nordic combined skier who competed from 1995 to 2006. Competing in three Winter Olympics, he had his best overall finish of eighth in the 4 x 5 km team event at Nagano in 1998 and his best individual finish of 17th in the 7.5 km sprint event at Turin in 2006.
