Martin Odersky is a German computer scientist and professor of programming methods at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. He specializes in code analysis and programming languages. He designed the Scala programming language and Generic Java both with others. He implemented the GJ compiler, and his implementation became the basis of javac, the Java compiler. In 2007, he was inducted as a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery.

Alain Fuchs is a Swiss-born French Doctor of Science and chemistry Professor, specialized in molecular simulation. He is also university administrator. He served as the president of Chimie ParisTech - PSL from 2006 to 2010. He has served as the president of the French National Centre for Scientific Research from 2010 to 2017.' He became an Officer of the Legion of Honour in 2014.

Madeleine Chamot-Berthod is a Swiss former alpine skier. She was born in Château d'Oex, Vaud. Berthod was Swiss Sportspersonality of the year in 1956. She competed at the 1952, 1956 and the 1960 Winter Olympics, winning gold in the women's downhill at the 1956 Games.
