Often considered one of the greatest chefs of the 20th Century, his self-named restaurant in Crissier, Switzerland earned three Michelin stars and before Girardet's retirement in 1996 was often called the greatest restaurant in the world.

After leaving Formula One, Buemi became a reserve driver for Scuderia Toro Rosso's sister team, Red Bull Racing from 2012 to 2013. He returned to Red Bull Racing in 2019 as a reserve driver.
