Johannes Frischauf (17 September 1837 in Vienna – 7 January 1924 in Graz) was an Austrian mathematician, physicist, astronomer, geodesist and alpinist.

Mark Sittich von Hohenems Altemps (1533–1595) was a German Roman Catholic bishop and cardinal. The addition of Altemps to the family name reflects Alt-Ems itself deriving from "Alta Embs", like the modern name Hohenems.

Ludwig Redtenbacher was an Austrian doctor and entomologist mainly interested in beetles. He was the brother of the chemist Josef Redtenbacher (1810–1870).
