Arnab Goswami is an Indian news anchor, who is the managing director and editor-in-chief of Republic Media Network. Goswami's Republic Media Network presently owns and operates two channels namely Republic TV in English and Republic Bharat in Hindi.

Rashami Desai is an Indian television and film actress. She made her acting debut with the Hindi film Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke (2004). She made her television debut with Ravan (2006).

Indrani Mukerjea is an Indian born British former HR consultant and media executive. She was the wife of Peter Mukerjea, a retired Indian television executive. In 2007 she co-founded INX Media with her ex-husband, where she took on the role of CEO. In 2009 she resigned from the company and later sold her stake in it. In August 2015, she was arrested by Mumbai Police and charged as the main accused in the alleged murder of her daughter, Sheena Bora.

Hima Das, nicknamed the Dhing Express, is an Indian sprinter from the state of Assam. She holds the current Indian national record in 400 metres with a timing of 50.79 s that she clocked at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is the first Indian athlete to win a gold medal in a track event at the IAAF World U20 Championships.

Sheena Bora, an executive working for Mumbai Metro One based in Mumbai, went missing on 24 April 2012. In August 2015 Mumbai Police arrested her mother Indrani Mukerjea, her stepfather Sanjeev Khanna, and her mother's driver, Shyamvar Pinturam Rai, for allegedly abducting and killing her and subsequently burning her corpse. Khanna and Rai confessed to the crime, and Mukerjea has said that Sheena Bora is living in the United States.

Ranjan Gogoi is a nominated Indian Parliamentarian and a former Judge in the Supreme Court of India who served as the 46th Chief Justice of India for 13 months between 2018 and 2019. He was nominated to Rajya Sabha by President Ram Nath Kovind on 16 March 2020. He is the third Supreme Court justice to serve in the Rajya Sabha, and the first to be nominated to his seat, after Ranganath Mishra and Baharul Islam, who were elected as members of the Indian National Congress. The nomination by government and acceptance was highly criticized by former judges of the Supreme Court.

Angoorlata Deka is an Indian actress and politician from Assam. She is a first term member of the Assam Legislative Assembly.

An icon of the "Swinging Sixties", Christie is the recipient of numerous accolades including an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She has appeared in six films ranked in the British Film Institute's BFI Top 100 British films of the 20th century, and in 1997, she received the BAFTA Fellowship.

Riyan Parag is an Indian cricketer. He made his Twenty20 debut for Assam in the 2016–17 Inter State Twenty-20 Tournament on 29 January 2017. In October 2017 he was named in India's squad for the 2017 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup. He made his first-class debut for Assam in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy on 17 November 2017.

Dr. Bhupen Hazarika was an Indian playback singer, lyricist, musician, poet and filmmaker from Assam, widely known as Xudha kontho from the indigenous ethnic Kaibarta community of Assam. His songs, written and sung mainly in the Assamese language by himself, are marked by humanity and universal brotherhood and have been translated and sung in many languages, most notably in Bengali and Hindi. His songs, based on the themes of communal amity, universal justice and empathy, are especially popular among the people of Assam (India), West Bengal and Bangladesh. He is also acknowledged to have introduced the culture and folk music of Assam and Northeast India to Hindi cinema at the national level. He received the National Film Award for Best Music Direction in 1975, the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (1987), Padmashri (1977), and Padmabhushan (2001), Dada Saheb Phalke Award (1992), the highest award for cinema in India and Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship (2008), the highest award of the Sangeet Natak Akademi. He was posthumously awarded both the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award, in 2012, and the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, in 2019. Hazarika also held the position of the Chairman of the Sangeet Natak Akademi from December 1998 to December 2003.
