Mehdi Abid Charef is an Algerian association football referee.
Lakhdar Belloumi
Lakhdar Belloumi is an Algerian former football player and manager. He is widely considered as the best Algerian player of all time and one of the best players in Africa. He is said to have invented the "Blind Pass". He is awarded the 4th best African player of the century. He holds the record as the most capped Algerian player with 100 national caps and is also the third best goalscorer of the Algerian national team in all time with 28 goals.
Adlène Hicheur
Adlène Hicheur is a particle physicist with dual Algerian and French citizenship. After his master of theoretical physics in Lyon, he joined LAPP to work on the BaBar experiment, located at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. His thesis, defended in 2003, was about the production of high energy Eta prime mesons in the decays of B mesons. After that he was a Postdoctorate in England at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, where he worked on the ATLAS experiment at LHC. He then joined the high energy physics department of École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and works currently on the LHCb experiment.
Abderrahmane Hammad
Abderrahmane Hammad Zaheer is a former Algerian track and field athlete who competed in the high jump. He represented his country at the Summer Olympics in 2000, taking the bronze medal and made a second appearance at the 2004 Athens Olympics. His personal best of 2.34 m is the Algerian record for the event. He retired from the sport in 2010.
Abdelaziz Belkhadem
Abdelaziz Belkhadem is an Algerian politician who was Prime Minister of Algeria from 2006 to 2008. He was also Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front (FLN). Belkhadem served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2000 to 2005 and Personal Representative of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika from 2005 to 2006; after serving as Prime Minister from 2006 to 2008, he was again appointed as Personal Representative of the Head of State in 2008.

Ahmed Rachedi is an Algerian film director and screenwriter. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture for the film Z (1969), which he helped produce. His 1971 film L'Opium et le Bâton was entered into the 7th Moscow International Film Festival. His 1981 film Ali in Wonderland won a Special Prize at the 12th Moscow International Film Festival.

Amin Zaoui
Amin Zaoui is an Algerian novelist. He was born in Bab el Assa in Tlemcen province and studied at the University of Oran, obtaining a PhD in comparative literature. He moved to France during the Algerian civil war, but returned home in 1999. He has served as the Director General of the National Library of Algeria, and currently teaches comparative literature at the Central Algerian University.
