Karen Christine Handel is an American businesswoman and politician who served in the United States House of Representatives. A Republican, Handel worked in business before entering politics. She served as chair of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners from 2003 to 2006, and was thereafter elected Georgia's Secretary of State.

Jun Azumi is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet. He became deputy secretary-general of the DPJ on 24 September 2012.

Tariq Ramadan is a Swiss Muslim academic, philosopher, and writer. He is a member of the UK Foreign Office Advisory Group on Freedom of Religion or Belief. He was elected by Time magazine in 2000 as one of the seven religious innovators of the 21st century and in 2004 as one of the 100 most influential people in the world and by Foreign Policy readers as one of the top 100 most influential thinkers in the world and Global Thinkers. Ramadan describes himself as a "Salafi reformist".

Takako Okamura is a Japanese singer. She had her debut in 1982 as part of the folk duo Aming with the single Matsu-wa that became a success in Japan. The duo disbanded in 1984, and Okamura started a successful solo career in 1985. By 2006, she had released 15 original albums and 30 singles. She put her solo career on hold and reformed the duo Aming in 2007 for its 25th anniversary. On April 21, 2019, it was announced that Okamura was diagnosed with acute leukemia.

Jacqueline Jill Smith is a British broadcaster, political commentator and former Labour politician. She was the Member of Parliament for Redditch from 1997 until 2010, the first female Home Secretary and the third woman to hold one of the Great Offices of State, after Margaret Thatcher and Margaret Beckett.

Billy Eugene Self Jr. is an American basketball coach. He is the head men's basketball coach at the University of Kansas, a position he has held since 2003. During his 17 seasons as head coach, he has led the Jayhawks to 15 Big 12 regular season championships, including a share of an NCAA record 14 consecutive Big 12 regular season championships (2005–2018). He has also led the Jayhawks to three NCAA Final Four appearances, and the 2008 NCAA championship. Self was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in September 2017. Self, as of the end of the 2018–19 season, has the 23rd most wins among Division I coaches in NCAA history and 8th among active head coaches.
