He won the Indian general elections of 2014 and 2019 being a Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party candidate. He along with his party MPs resigned for their posts in protest for not giving special status to AP as promised by putting no confidence motion on PM Modi. YSRCP is first party to put no confidence motion on PM Modi.
