Elizabeth Holtzman is an American attorney and politician who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives. A Democrat, she represented New York's 16th congressional district for four terms. She was the first woman to hold the office of New York City Comptroller, and the first woman to serve as District Attorney of Kings County. In 1980, Holtzman was the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, losing to Republican nominee Al D'Amato.
