Elisabeth of Hesse was by birth a Hessian princess and by marriage Hereditary Princess of Saxony. After the death of her husband, John of Saxony, she managed her Wittum, the Saxon districts of Rochlitz and Kriebstein, earning her the name Elisabeth of Rochlitz.
