Xie Jianshun was a Taiwanese intersex man who gained considerable fame in 1953 when his condition was discovered by doctors of the Republic of China Armed Forces. He was considered by many to be the first Chinese "transsexual" when he underwent sex reassignment surgery and was frequently dubbed as the "Chinese Christine" due to both of them having been soldiers. This caused major cultural impact on the Taiwanese people as many felt it put the nation on the same level of development as the United States. Despite this, Xie did not want to transition to a woman but was encouraged to do so by medical professionals.

Xie Linka is a Chinese physician who gave early warning about the spread of COVID-19 in Wuhan, China. She became known for being a whistleblower, a title given to others in China who had warned the public, such as Liu Wen, and Dr. Li Wenliang, who was infected and later passed away from the virus.

Xie Zhenye is a Chinese sprinter. He is the current Asian record holder of the 200 metres with a time of 19.88 seconds. Xie's personal best in the 100 metres of 9.97 seconds makes him the second Chinese sprinter to record a time below the 10-second barrier, after his compatriot Su Bingtian. Xie represented China at the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Olympics.

Xie Xuegong also known as Xie Bin was a People's Republic of China politician. He was born in Xi County, Shanxi Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in July 1936. He was acting Communist Party of China Committee Secretary of his home province. In 1966, he succeeded People's Liberation Army senior general Ulanhu as Party Secretary of Inner Mongolia. He was Party Secretary of Tianjin as well as mayor. He was expelled from the Communist Party of China in 1987. He died at the age of 76.
