Tsuda Umeko
Tsuda Umeko was a Japanese educator, Christian, and pioneer in education for women in Meiji period Japan. Originally named Tsuda Ume, with mume or ume referring to the Japanese plum, she went by the name Ume Tsuda while studying in the United States before changing her name to Umeko in 1902.
Tsuda Sanzō
Tsuda Sanzo was a Japanese policeman who in 1891 attempted to assassinate Nicholas II of Russia, in what became known as the Ōtsu incident. He was convicted for attempted murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Tsuda Nobusumi
Tsuda Nobuzumi was a Japanese samurai and member of the main Oda clan of Owari Province during the Sengoku and Azuchi–Momoyama periods. Nobuzumi was the son of Oda Nobuyuki, thus making the famed Oda Nobunaga his uncle. After the Incident at Honnō-ji in 1582, Nobusumi came under the suspicion of Oda Nobutaka of collaboration with Akechi Mitsuhide, largely because of his marriage with Mitsuhide's daughter. Due to this guilt by association, Nobutaka had Nobuzumi killed.

Tsuda Sen was a politician, educator and writer in Meiji period Japan. He was one of the founders of Aoyama Gakuin university, and the father of noted author Tsuda Umeko.
