Sergei Leonidovich Tikhanovsky or Siarhiej Leanidavič Cichanoŭski is a Belarusian YouTuber, video blogger, dissident and pro-democracy activist. He is considered by Amnesty International to be a prisoner of conscience. He is known primarily for his activism against the government of Belarus's long-serving president, Alexander Lukashenko. In May 2020, he announced his intention of running for the 2020 presidential election, but he was arrested two days afterwards. His wife Sviatłana Cichanowskaja ended up as the main rival to Lukashenko in the contested elections.

Previously, he was the artistic director of the ballet at the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre, serving in this capacity from 2008 to 2011.

Sergey Maratovich Guriyev is a Russian economist, a professor of economics at the Instituts d'études politiques in Paris. In 2016-19, he was the chief economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. He was a Morgan Stanley Professor of Economics and a Rector at the New Economic School (NES) in Moscow until he resigned on 30 April 2013 and fled to France. He joined NES in 1998 focusing on research and teaching and became a full-time permanent faculty member in 1999. He became the school's Rector in 2004. He was also teaching graduate courses in economics of development, microeconomic theory and contract theory.
