Radu Mihăileanu is a Romanian-born French film director and screenwriter. He left Romania in 1980 and graduated the IDHEC cinematographic institute in Paris. In addition to his work in the cinema he published a book of poems in 1987 titled Une vague en mal de mer. His film The Source premiered in competition at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.

On 15 December 2013, confirmed by Guinness World Records, the actor received the title of "The oldest active theatre actor" on the planet. Radu Câmpeanu
Radu-Anton Câmpeanu was a Romanian politician. He was president of the National Liberal Party (PNL) between 1990 and 1993, a party he helped re-found after the fall of communism, and a Senator between 1990 and 1992 and also between 2004 and 2008. He ran against Ion Iliescu in the 1990 Romanian presidential elections, in which he came second with 10.64% of the vote. He retained the honorific title of "1990 Founding President" of the party, and was a member in the Central Political Bureau of the party.
Radu IV the Great
Radu IV the Great, was a Voivode (Prince) of Wallachia from September 1495 to April 1508. He succeeded his father, Vlad Călugărul, who was one of the three brothers to Vlad III the Impaler. He was married to Princess Catalina Crnojević of Zeta, daughter of Andrija Crnojević. The marriage was arranged by her uncle Ivan Crnojević, Prince of Zeta after her father's death. Radu was succeeded by his first cousin Mihnea cel Rău, son to his uncle Vlad Țepeș.

Radu I was a Voivode of Wallachia,. His year of birth is unattested in any primary source. He was the son of Nicolae Alexandru and half-brother and successor to Vladislav I. He is identified by many historians as the legendary Radu Negru, a mythical voievode of the early medieval state Wallachia, founder of the state's institutions and ruler.
Radu cel Frumos
Radu III of Wallachia, commonly called Radu the Handsome or Radu the Fair, was the younger brother of Vlad III and Prince of the principality of Wallachia. They were both sons of Vlad II Dracul and his wife, Princess Cneajna of Moldavia. In addition to Vlad III, Radu also had two older siblings, Mircea II and Vlad Călugărul, both of whom would also briefly rule Wallachia.
