List of Famous people named Quintus

Quintus Hortensius Hortalus was a famous Roman lawyer, a renowned orator and a statesman. Politically he belonged to the Optimates. He was consul in 69 BC alongside Quintus Caecilius Metellus Creticus. His nickname was Dionysia, after a famous dancing girl. After his retirement Hortensius took up fish-breeding as a hobby. Cicero spoke of him as a Piscinarii – 'fish fancier'.

Quintus Fulvius Flaccus was a plebeian consul of the Roman Republic in 179 BC. Because of his successes in Spain and Liguria, he celebrated two triumphs. Although his political career was a success, he was plagued by controversy and suffered a mental breakdown that culminated in suicide.

Quintus Mucius Scaevola was a politician of the Roman Republic, believed to be the son of his namesake who was praetor in 215 BC. He was made praetor in 179 BC, and became governor of Sicily. In 174 BC, he was made consul, and in 171 BC, tribune. In this latter position, he accompanied his brother-in-law Publius Licinius Crassus on campaign against Perseus of Macedonia.

Quintus Plautius was a Roman senator, who was active during the Principate. He was consul ordinarius for the year 36 as the colleague of Sextus Papinius Allenius. Nothing more is known about his senatorial career.

Quintus Caecilius Metellus Balearicus was a Roman statesman and general who was elected consul for the year 123 BC.

Quintus Clodius Hermogenianus Olybrius was a Roman politician, praefectus urbi of Rome from 368 to 370 and Roman consul in 379. Olybrius has been characterized as belonging to "the breed of flexible politicians who did well both under Valentinian I [...] and under Gratian."

Quintus Servilius Caepio was a Roman statesman and general, consul in 106 BC, and proconsul of Cisalpine Gaul in 105 BC. He was the father of Quintus Servilius Caepio and the grandfather of Servilia.

Quintus Fabius Maximus Aemilianus was a Roman statesman and consul.

Quintus Pompeius Rufus was a consul of the Roman Republic in 88 BC. His colleague in office was the future dictator Sulla.
