Peter Jamvold was a Norwegian sailor who competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics. He was a crew member of the Norwegian boat Eleda, which won the gold medal in the 10 metre class.

He won a total of 13 World Championship and 2 Winter Olympic gold medals with 20 medals overall, and 18 individual FIS Cross-Country World Cup wins with 13 podium places. He is also the record holder for most stage wins (13) in Tour de Ski. By winning his ninth gold medal in the Nordic World Ski Championships in 4 × 10 km relay in Val di Fiemme 2013 he leveled the achievement of Bjørn Dæhlie who had been the most successful World Champion male skier up to that point.

Næss is best known for his work directing two of the three films about Ingvar Ambjørnsen's Elling character, Elling (2000), which was nominated for the foreign language film Oscar and Elsk meg i morgen, (2005), in addition to Bare Bea (2003), Mozart and the Whale (2005) and Hoppet in Sweden. In 2008 Næss portrayed the war hero Martin Linge in the movie Max Manus.

Petter Andersen is a Norwegian speed skater. He was born in Oslo and represented the club Aktiv SK. He competed in the 1,000 m and 1,500 m at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, and at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.
