Jorge Fernando "Locomotora" Castro is an Argentine boxer and former middleweight champion of the world, who is best known for his second defense of the title against John David Jackson in 1994.

Jorge Viana is a Brazilian engineer and politician. He has represented Acre in the Federal Senate since 2011. Previously, he was Governor of Acre from 1999 to 2007. He is a member of the Workers' Party. After Renan Calheiros lost the presidency of the Senate, Viana is now the president of the Brazilian Senate.

Jorge Fonseca is a Portuguese judoka. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the men's 100 kg event, in which he was eliminated in the second round by Lukáš Krpálek. He won the gold medal at the 2019 World Judo Championships in Tokyo and in the 2021 World Judo Championships in Budapest.

Jorge Vera-Cruz Barbosa was a Cape Verdean poet and writer. He collaborated in various reviews and Portuguese and Cape Verdean journals. The publication of his poetry anthology Arquipélago (Archipelago) in 1935 marked the beginning of Cape Verdean poetry. He was, along with Baltazar Lopes da Silva and Manuel Lopes, one of the three founders of the literary journal Claridade ("Clarity") in 1936, which marked the beginning of modern Cape Verdean literature.

Jorge Cayetano Zaín Asís is an Argentine writer and politician. His literary career took off in the 1970s, when he published a daily column in Clarín, and published a number of novels that dealt with youth, sex, politics, and the everyday life of the poor and working classes in modern Argentina. While some of his books expressed sympathy for the victims of the military junta of 1976-1983, he was later also accused of having collaborated with the regime. In the 1980s he became directly involved in politics and occupied a number of positions during the government of Carlos Menem. He ran as vice-presidential candidate in 2007 on a ticket that finished 6th in the elections.

Jorge Mas Canosa was a Cuban-American exile who founded the Cuban American National Foundation and MasTec, a publicly traded company. Regarded within the United States as a powerful lobbyist on Cuban and anti-Castro political positions, he was labeled a "counterrevolutionary" by the Cuban Communist Party. Mas Canosa was the driving force behind the creation of both Radio Marti and TV Marti and was appointed chairman of the advisory panel by President Ronald Reagan. In the early 1960s, he was trained by the CIA for the Bay of Pigs Invasion and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army. Under his leadership, the CANF received criticism for its role in covert operations in Cuba. In 1998, the New York Times published several articles on his relationship with Luis Posada Carriles.

Jorge Ibargüengoitia Antillón was a Mexican novelist and playwright who achieved great popular and critical success with his satires, three of which have appeared in English: Las Muertas, Dos Crímenes, and Los Relámpagos de Agosto. His plays include Susana y los Jóvenes and Ante varias esfinges, both dating from the 1950s. In 1955, Ibarguengoitia received a Rockefeller grant to study in New York City; five years later he received the Mexico City literary award. He died in Avianca Flight 011 en route to Frankfurt via Paris, Madrid, and Caracas to Bogotá that crashed on November 27, 1983.

Jorge Hernán Bermúdez Morales is a retired Colombian football defender. He played 56 times for the Colombia national team between 1995 and 2001.
