John II, Lord of Egmond was the son of Arnold I of Egmond and Jolanthe of Leiningen . On 23 June 1409 John married Maria van Arkel daughter of John V van Arkel and Joanna of Jülich, and had two sons:

John Stark was a New Hampshire native who served as an officer in the British Army during the French and Indian war and a major general in the Continental Army during the American Revolution. He became widely known as the "Hero of Bennington" for his exemplary service at the Battle of Bennington in 1777.

John FitzGerald, 15th Knight of Kerry was an Irish politician and hereditary knight.

John Brunton (1741–1822) was an English actor who became the manager of a circuit of theatres in and around Norfolk. He assiduously cultivated emerging talent in his company, which also produced actors amongst his children and grandchildren.
