Between 1969 and 1987 she won at least 10 national titles. She had an unusually long cycling career and was a candidate for the 1988 Olympic team, when women's track cycling was first introduced to the Olympics.
Galina Khomchik
Galina Khomchik is a Russian singer, acoustic guitarist and pianist, a prominent figure of the country's modern folk/bard movement. Khomchik, the three Soviet bard festivals' laureate and a XX Workers' Festival's golden medal winner. A popular radio and TV presenter, she was the author of the TV series I'll Sing To You and Let's Fill With Music... and filmed an eight-part TV film on the history of the bard movement in the USSR. Khomchik is known also as director and producer of many musical videos, including those of the pop bard Oleg Mityaev. Both on her own and as a member of an all-star project Songs of Our Century she toured Europe, Australia, Israel and USA
Galina Zybina
Galina Ivanovna Zybina is a retired Russian athlete and coach. She competed in the shot put at the 1952, 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympics and finished in first, second, seventh and third place, respectively; in 1952 she also finished fourth in the javelin throw. Between 1952 and 1956 she set eight consecutive world records and 14 national records in the shot put. In 1953, she became the first woman to throw over 16 meters.

Galina Andreyevna Stepanskaya is a former speed skater who competed for the Soviet Union. She won the 1,500 m event at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck. She was Soviet Allround Champion in 1976 and 1977 and won silver twice at the World Allround Championships, in 1977 and 1978. In 2009, she was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honour.

Galina Alekseyevna Kukleva or Koukleva is a retired Russian biathlete. At the 1998 Winter Olympics she won a gold medal in the 7.5 km sprint, and was a part of the team that won a silver medal in the relay. Four years later at the 2002 Winter Olympics she was a part of the team that won a bronze medal. In the World Championships she earned a silver medal in the mass start from 2000, in addition to five relay medals. She won 9 world cup competitions by the end of her career.
