Alexander Garrievich Gordon is a Russian radio and television presenter, journalist, actor and director, of Russian Jewish descent. Head of the Moscow Institute Workshop of journalism TV and Radio "Ostankino" (Mitra), a lecturer in a Makgaffina Film School. Five-time winner TEFI. His surname is pronounced with stress on the last syllable, i.e. rhyming with "anon", unlike the regular pronunciation of "Gordon" rhyming with "colon".

Cox experienced success early in his career with Repo Man and Sid and Nancy, but since the release and commercial failure of Walker, he has directed his career towards independent films. Cox received a co-writer credit for the screenplay of Terry Gilliam's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998) for previous work on the script before it was completely rewritten by Gilliam.

He co-wrote the screenplay for the movie Evil Dead II with longtime friend, film director Sam Raimi, with whom he attended Wylie E. Groves High School in Birmingham, Michigan. Spiegel played the role of Scotty in Raimi's Within the Woods, which served as a precursor to The Evil Dead.

Mahesh Bhatt is an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter known for his works exclusively in Hindi cinema. A stand-out film from his earlier period is Saaransh (1984), screened at the 14th Moscow International Film Festival. It became India's official entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for that year. The 1986 film Naam was his first piece of commercial cinema. In 1987, he turned producer with the film Kabzaa under the banner, "Vishesh Films", with his brother Mukesh Bhatt.
