Timothy James Walz is an American politician serving as the 41st governor of Minnesota since 2019. He is a member of the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL).

Marcus Cooper Walz is a Spanish sprint canoeist who has competed internationally since the early 2010s. He won the gold medal in the K-1 1000 metres event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Walz was formerly assigned to the Exploration Systems Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C.. He was the Acting Director for the Advanced Capabilities Division in the Exploration Systems Mission Directorate, and was responsible for a broad range of activities to include Human Research, Technology Development, Nuclear Power and Propulsion and the Lunar Robotic Exploration Programs to support the Vision for Space Exploration.
