Reginald Lawrence Knowles was an English film actor who renamed himself Patric Knowles. Born in Horsforth, West Riding of Yorkshire, he made his film debut in 1932, and played either first or second film leads throughout his career. He appeared in films from the 1930s to the 1970s.

Peter Knowles is a former English badminton player. He competed for Great Britain at the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics. He also represented England at the 1994 and 1998 Commonwealth Games, winning a mixed team gold in 1994, and a men's team bronze medal in 1998. Knowles who played for Kent badminton won the men's singles title at the National Championships in 1997, and has been capped 39 times for England.

Warren Perley Knowles, was an American lawyer and politician, and was the 36th Governor of Wisconsin. Prior to that, he was the 32nd and 34th Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin, and represented St. Croix, Buffalo, Pepin, and Pierce Counties in the Wisconsin Senate for fourteen years.

Mark Knowles is a professional tennis coach and former professional tennis player from the Bahamas, former number 1 in world specialising in doubles tennis. He won three of the four Grand Slam tournaments in men's doubles, partnering with Daniel Nestor, as well as Wimbledon in mixed doubles. At various times between 2002 and 2005 he was ranked World No. 1 in doubles. He is a five-time Olympian.
