Josep Maria Carreras i Coll, better known as José Carreras, is a Spanish operatic tenor who is particularly known for his performances in the operas of Donizetti, Verdi and Puccini.

Arabela Marisa Carreras is an Argentine teacher and politician, currently serving as Governor of Río Negro Province since 10 December 2019. She is the first woman to hold the post. From 2017 to 2019 she was the province's Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports. She also served as a provincial legislator and as councilwoman in her hometown, San Carlos de Bariloche.
