Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson is an Icelandic former professional strongman and actor. He is the first person to have won the Arnold Strongman Classic, Europe's Strongest Man and World's Strongest Man in the same calendar year. He played Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane in the HBO series Game of Thrones for five seasons. He also is a former professional basketball player.

Sveinn Björnsson was the first President of the Republic of Iceland (1944–1952).

Olof Björnsson, in legend, was a Swedish king who was referenced in several Old Norse Sagas including Hervarar saga, Saga of Harald Fairhair and the Styrbjarnar þáttr Svíakappa. Reconstructions that place him as a historical king date his reign to c. 970 – c. 975.

Refil Björnsson was a Swedish prince, grandson of Ragnar Lodbrok, who allegedly flourished in the early Viking Age and had a certain dynastic importance. His historical existence is uncertain.
