John Macgregor Bruce Lockhart OBE CMG CB was a British schoolmaster, soldier, diplomat, intelligence officer, and university administrator.

Kazimierz Wiłkomirski; was a Polish cellist, composer and conductor. Son of Alfred Wiłkomirski, brother of Wanda Wiłkomirska and violinist Michael Wilkomirski. Graduate of the Moscow Conservatory.

Joe Slovo was a South African politician, and an opponent of the apartheid system. A Marxist-Leninist, he was a long-time leader and theorist in the South African Communist Party (SACP), a leading member of the African National Congress (ANC), and a commander of the ANC's military wing Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK).

Saidye Rosner Bronfman was the matriarch of the wealthy Bronfman family. Her husband, Samuel Bronfman (1891–1971), founded the Seagram Company and the family took a leading role in the Canadian-Jewish community.
