Caroline Marie Hagen Kjos is a Norwegian businesswoman, heiress and billionaire based in Switzerland. In early 2018, she was the richest woman in Norway. In 2014, she was elected Chairman of the Board of the family holding company Canica. In 2014–2015, a clear majority of the company's share capital was also transferred to her. In March 2018, the US business magazine Forbes estimated Hagen Kjos's assets at $2.8 billion.

Domenico Contarini was the 30th Doge of Venice. His reign lasted from his election following the death of Domenico Flabanico in 1043 until his own death in 1071. During his reign, the Venetians recaptured Zadar and parts of Dalmatia that had been lost to the Kingdom of Croatia in the previous few decades. The Venetian naval fleet was heavily built up during his reign, the economy thrived, and the Republic of Venice had reasserted its control over much of the Mediterranean Sea.

Daniel O'Brien, 4th Viscount Clare was the son of Daniel O'Brien, 3rd Viscount Clare and Philadelphia Lennard. A Jacobite supporter of James II, he served with the Irish Army during the War of the Two Kings. He was commander of a regiment which he conveyed to France where he fought in the Battle of Marsaglia on 4 October 1693 and was mortally wounded. Daniel O'Brien never married and was therefore succeeded by his brother Charles O'Brien, 5th Viscount Clare.
