Alois Machatschek was an Austrian architect, architectural historian, university professor and architectural preservationist.

Jozef Barmoš is a former Slovak football coach and former player. He played in defence for Czechoslovakia, and won 52 international caps.

Ladislav Jurkemik is a former Slovak football player and later a football manager. He played in the Czechoslovak First League for Inter Bratislava and Dukla Banská Bystrica. Jurkemik played internationally for Czechoslovakia; he played a total of 57 matches and scored 3 goals. He managed Slovakia in 2002 and 2003.

Mons. Róbert Bezák, C.SS.R. is a Slovak Roman Catholic prelate. He was consecrated as Archbishop of Trnava on June 6, 2009 by Cardinal Jozef Tomko.

Peter Dubovský, SJ, was a Slovak Auxiliary Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Banská Bystrica from 1991 until his retirement in 1997. Dubovský was ordained as a Catholic priest on December 24, 1950 and clandestinely as bishop on May 18, 1961 by Dominik Kalata, because of the Communist Government of Czechoslovakia and the persecution of the Roman Catholic Church by the government. He died on April 10, 2008, at the age of 86.
