Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, and futurist best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system.

Rade Šerbedžija is a Croatian actor, director and musician. He is known for his portrayals of imposing figures on both sides of the law. He was one of the best known Yugoslav actors in the 1970s and 1990s. He is internationally known mainly for his supporting roles in Hollywood films such as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, X-Men: First Class, The Saint, In the Land of Blood and Honey, Mission: Impossible 2; his role as Boris the Blade in Snatch; and for his recurring role as former Soviet Army General Dmitri Gredenko in Season 6 of TV action series 24.

Jovanka Broz was First Lady of Yugoslavia as the wife of Yugoslav leader Josip Broz Tito. She was a lieutenant colonel in the Yugoslav People's Army.

Slavko Štimac is a Serbian actor of Croatian descent. He was born in the village of Konjsko brdo near Perušić. He graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. Slavko Štimac made his screen debut in the 1972 film Vuk samotnjak. What followed was a career during which Štimac appeared in many popular and important 1970s and 1980s Yugoslav films where he played child and adolescent characters. His youthful looks later plagued his career, typecasting him into adolescent roles well into his 30s. However, in 2004 he had the leading role in Emir Kusturica's Life Is a Miracle, some years after playing the role of a stutterer in the internationally acclaimed film Underground of same director Kusturica.

Ante Starčević was a Croatian politician and writer. His policies centered around Croatian state law, the integrity of Croatian lands, and the right of his people to self-determination. As an important member of the Croatian parliament and the founder of the Party of Rights he has laid the foundations for Croatian nationalism. He has been referred to as Father of the Nation due to his campaign for the rights of Croats within Austria-Hungary and his propagation of a Croatian state in a time where many politicians sought unification with other South Slavs. Some of his works and viewpoints, viewed by some historians as racist and Anti-semitic, served as tenets of Ustaše movement which has made him a controversial figure.
