Vitold Lvovich Shmulyan, was a Soviet mathematician known for his work in functional analysis. The Eberlein–Šmulian theorem and Krein–Smulian theorem are named after him.

Sergey Dmitrievich Stanishev is a Bulgarian politician who has served as President of the Party of European Socialists since November 2011 and Member of the European Parliament (MEP). He previously served as Prime Minister of Bulgaria from 2005 to 2009, Leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party from 2001 to 2014 and Member of the National Assembly from 1997 to 2014.

Yuri Nikitin is a Ukrainian gymnast and Olympic champion. He won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. He also competed at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics.
