Chetna Gala Sinha is an Indian social activist working to empower women in drought-prone areas of rural India by teaching entrepreneurial skills, access to land and means of production. Chetna Sinha and six other women chaired the 48th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland in January 2018. Chetna Gala Sinha has been awarded the Nari Shakti Puraskar, India's highest civilian award for women. In 1997, she set up the Mann Deshi Mahila Sahakari Bank – India's first bank for and by rural women. Mann Deshi Bank had 100,000 account holders and had loaned over $50 million to support female micro-entrepreneurs in 2018. Mann Deshi foundation runs Business Schools, a Community Radio and a Chambers of Commerce for rural women micro entrepreneurs. In 2018 it had supported nearly half a million women.

Dinesh Kumar Patel is an Indian right-handed baseball pitcher who played in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. Along with Rinku Singh, he was the first Indian player ever to sign a contract with a major American baseball team. Neither Patel nor Singh had ever thrown a baseball before beating over 37,000 competitors in The Million Dollar Arm, an Indian reality television show designed to find new baseball talent.

Sonu Gowda, also credited as Shruthi Ramakrishnan, is an Indian film actress. She made her debut in the Kannada film Inthi Ninna Preethiya and appeared in films including Paramesha Panwala and Gulama. She has also starred in a few Tamil films.

Ushoshi Sengupta is an Indian beauty pageant contestant who won the title of I Am She – Miss Universe India and represented India in Miss Universe 2010 held at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nevada, on 23 August.

Priyanka Dutt is an Indian film producer known for her work in Telugu cinema. She is the daughter of C. Ashwini Dutt, a well known Indian film producer and the founder of Vyjayanthi Movies. Dutt studied film making from University of California, Los Angeles. She made her debut as a filmmaker at the age of 20 by co-producing the film Balu in 2004. She is the founder of Three Angels Studio, and has produced a short film titled; Yaadon Ki Baraat which was screened at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

Sanjay Subrahmanyam is an Indian historian who specialises in the early modern period. He is the author of several books and publications. He holds the Irving and Jean Stone Endowed Chair in Social Sciences at UCLA which he joined in 2004.
