Dimitrie Cozacovici
Dimitrie Cozacovici was a Romanian historian. He was one of the founding members of the Romanian Academy. Cozacovici was an Aromanian from Metsovo and one of the main figures of the early Aromanian national movement. He migrated to Wallachia out of national pride feelings and became an officer in the Wallachian army in 1834. His efforts led to the establishment of an Aromanian committee in Bucharest. His surname is sometimes spelled Cosacovici or Cazacovici.

Pope Eleutherius, also known as Eleutherus, was the bishop of Rome of the Catholic Church from c. 174 to his death. According to the Liber Pontificalis, he was a Greek born in Nicopolis in Epirus, Greece. His contemporary Hegesippus wrote that he was a deacon of the Roman Church under Pope Anicetus, and remained so under Pope Soter, whom he succeeded around 174.
Georgios Averoff
George M. Averoff, alternately Jorgos Averof or Georgios Averof, was a Greek businessman and philanthropist. He is one of the great national benefactors of Greece. Born in the town of Metsovo Averoff moved to Alexandria while still young. He was known through most of his life for founding numerous schools in both Egypt and Greece.
Wehib Pasha
Wehib Pasha also known as Vehip Pasha, Mehmed Wehib Pasha, Mehmet Vehip Pasha, was a general in the Ottoman Army. He fought in the Balkan Wars and in several theatres of World War I. In his later years, he acted as a military advisor to the Ethiopian army in the Second Italo-Abyssinian War.
