Nikolai Igorevich Lebedev is a Russian film director, screenwriter and film producer. Born in Kishinev, Soviet Union.

Svetlana Andreevna Toma is a Moldovan actress. She debuted at the Moldova-Film studio in 1966. She worked in Moldova and Russia.

Sofia Polcanova is an Moldovan-Austrian table tennis player. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the women's singles event, in which she was eliminated in the second round by Jian Fang Lay, and as part of the Austrian team in the women's team event.

Sergiu Toma is a Moldovan-born Emirati judoka. He competed for the United Arab Emirates in the 81 kg category at the 2016 Olympic Games and defeated Takanori Nagase to enter the semi-finals. He lost his semi-final match to Khasan Khalmurzaev, but then beat Matteo Marconcini in the bronze medal match. At the 2008 and 2012 Olympics he competed for Moldova but was eliminated in the early rounds.

Naum Kleiman is an historian of cinema, Russian film critic, specialist in Sergei Eisenstein, former manager of the Moscow State Central Cinema Museum, Eisenstein-Centre director, actor and filmmaker. He was a member of the jury at the 43rd Berlin International Film Festival in 1993 and a member of the jury at the Venice Film Festival in 1991. He is a FIPRESCI laureate.

Oleg Cretul is a Moldovan judoka. He competed in the men's half-middleweight event at the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Olga Bancic was a Jewish Romanian communist activist, known for her role in the French Resistance. A member of the FTP-MOI and Missak Manouchian's Group, she was captured by Nazi German forces in late 1943, and executed soon after. Bancic was married to the writer and fellow FTP-MOI fighter Alexandru Jar.
