Huldrych Zwingli
Huldrych Zwingli or Ulrich Zwingli was a leader of the Reformation in Switzerland, born during a time of emerging Swiss patriotism and increasing criticism of the Swiss mercenary system. He attended the University of Vienna and the University of Basel, a scholarly center of Renaissance humanism. He continued his studies while he served as a pastor in Glarus and later in Einsiedeln, where he was influenced by the writings of Erasmus.

Forrer and Vergé-Dépré were eliminated in the round of 16 by German pair Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst. Forrer and Vergé-Dépré finished 9th. The pair competed at the 2016 World Tour Finals in Toronto and won the bronze medal. They won the bronze medal match against Larissa Franca and Talita Antunes of Brazil in straight sets.

Paul Grüninger
Paul Grüninger was a Swiss police commander in St. Gallen. He was recognized as one of the Righteous Among the Nations by the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial foundation in 1971. Following the Austrian Anschluss, Grüninger saved about 3,600 Jewish refugees by backdating their visas and falsifying other documents to indicate that they had entered Switzerland at a time when legal entry of refugees was still possible. He was dismissed from the police force, convicted of official misconduct, and fined 300 Swiss francs. He received no pension and died in poverty in 1972.
