Gaston Mullegg, also known as Mühlegg, was a Swiss sports official. He was the president of the Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d'Aviron (FISA), the International Rowing Federation, from 1949 or 1950 until his death.

Michel Plancherel was a Swiss mathematician. He was born in Bussy and obtained his Diplom in mathematics from the University of Fribourg and then his doctoral degree in 1907 with a thesis written under the supervision of Mathias Lerch. Plancherel was a professor in Fribourg (1911), and from 1920 at ETH Zurich.

François Charrière was the Roman Catholic bishop of Lausanne, Geneva and Fribourg from 1945 to 1970.

Daniel Streich is a Swiss military instructor, community council member and a former member of Swiss People's Party. A Protestant who converted to Catholicism and then to Islam, Streich left the Swiss People's Party over the campaign for the national ban on the construction of new minarets.
