Born to an Arain family, he previously, he served as the Chairman of the Senate from 2003 to 2009, the caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan from 2007 to 2008 and the acting President of Pakistan from 18 August 2008 to 9 September 2008.

Rena Wang is an American badminton player. She was invited by the World Badminton Federation to compete at the 2012 Olympics in the women’s singles event. Her sister, Iris Wang, is also a badminton player and her doubles partner. Rena Wang won bronze in the women’s singles and women’s doubles events with her sister at the 2009 Pan Am Badminton Championships at Guadalajara, Mexico.
