Luuk Folkerts is a Dutch politician and environmental consultant serving since 28 November 2010 as chairman of the Party for the Animals, succeeding to party founder Marianne Thieme. Previously he was the PvdD's treasurer and a candidate on the lists for the 2007 election of the States-Provincial of Utrecht, the Dutch Senate election of 2007 as well as the Dutch general election of 2010, but was not elected to a seat.

On 16 June 2016, Jo Cox, the British Labour Party Member of Parliament for Batley and Spen, died after being shot and stabbed multiple times in Birstall, West Yorkshire. In September, Thomas Alexander Mair, a 53-year-old gardener, was found guilty of her murder and other offences connected to the killing. The judge concluded that Mair wanted to advance white supremacism and exclusive nationalism most associated with Nazism and its modern forms. He was sentenced to life imprisonment with a whole life order.

Peter Douglas Koon Ho-ming, is the provincial secretary general of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui (HKSKH) and a chaplain of HKSKH St John's Cathedral. He is also a member of the Election Committee and 13th Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
