He also held the title of Albanian-slayer after receiving aid from the Ottoman Empire to capture Ioannina from Albanian ruler of the Despotate of Arta, Gjin Bua Shpata, after failing to do so independently. The Albanian Slayer (Ἀλβανοκτόνος).
