Dumais has competed for the United States at the 2000 Summer Olympics, 2004 Athens Summer Olympics, 2008 Summer Olympics, and 2012 Summer Olympics, the last which he won a bronze team medal in the synchronized 3m. He attended the University of Texas at Austin.
