Laurens Theodoor Gronovius, also known as Laurentius Theodorus Gronovius or as Laurens Theodoor Gronow, was a Dutch naturalist born in Leiden. He was the son of botanist Jan Frederik Gronovius (1686–1762).

Martin(us) van Marum was a Dutch physician, inventor, scientist and teacher, who studied medicine and philosophy in Groningen. Van Marum introduced modern chemistry in the Netherlands after the theories of Lavoisier, and several scientific applications for general use. He became famous for his demonstrations with instruments, most notable the Large electricity machine, to show statical electricity and chemical experiments while curator for the Teylers Museum.

Marinus Lambertus van den Boezem is a Dutch artist. He is known for his radical view of art and his works in public space. Together with Wim T. Schippers, Ger van Elk and Jan Dibbets, Boezem is seen as one of the main representatives of conceptual art and arte povera in the Netherlands in the late 1960s.

Sander Dekker is a Dutch politician serving as Minister for Legal Protection in the Third Rutte cabinet since 26 October 2017. A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), he previously served as State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science in the Second Rutte cabinet (2012–2017).

Andries de Witt was Grand Pensionary of Holland between 1619 and 1621. He was the successor of Johan van Oldebarnevelt, who had been executed in 1619.

Joan Franka is a Dutch singer with the birthname of Joany Franka Johanna Ayten Hazebroek. Her late father was Turkish, while her mother is Dutch. She represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with You and Me. She became well known in the Netherlands through her participation in the first series of The Voice of Holland, a talent show.
