Landgrave Frederick of Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld was the oldest son of Landgrave William of Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld and his wife, Charlotte Wilhelmine of Anhalt-Bernberg-Hoyn. He succeeded his father as Landgrave of Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld in 1761.

Jacob Bicker (1588–1647) was a Dutch nobleman and merchant. Between 1643 and 1647 he was lord of Engelenburg and a director of the Oostzeevaart, handling Dutch trade with the Baltic Sea.

Anna Maria Geertruida "Annie" Schmidt was a Dutch writer. She is called the mother of the Dutch theatrical song, and the queen of Dutch children's literature, praised for her "delicious Dutch idiom," and considered one of the greatest Dutch writers. An ultimate honour was extended to her posthumously, in 2007, when a group of Dutch historians compiled the "Canon of Dutch History" and included Schmidt, alongside national icons such as Vincent van Gogh and Anne Frank.

Jacob Derk Burchard Anne baron van Heeckeren tot Enghuizen, also known as Van Heeckeren van Beverweerd, was a Dutch diplomat. He received the title baron of the First French Empire in 1813.
