Wasfi Tal was a Jordanian politician, statesman and general. He served as Prime Minister of Jordan for three separate terms, 1962–63, 1965–67 and 1970 until his assassination in 1971.

Mustafa Wahbi Tal, also known by his pen name Arar, was a Jordanian poet, writer, teacher and civil servant, widely regarded as Jordan's most prominent poet and among the best-known Jordanian poets among Arab readers.

Monther Rayahneh is a Jordanian actor. After studying Dramatic Arts in Yarmouk University, he participated in several TV dramas. He became famous for his roles as knight or prince in Bedouin and Historical series. He received best actor award in Cairo Arab Media Festival for his role as " Awda Abou Taya".

Abdullah El Tell served in the Transjordanian Arab Legion during the 1948 war in Palestine rising from the rank of company commander to become Military Governor of the Old City of Jerusalem. He was later accused of being involved in the assassination of King Abdullah I−which he denied−and spent many years in Egypt before returning to Jordan in 1967.

Fawzi El-Mulki (1910–1962) was a Jordanian diplomat and politician. While serving as ambassador to the United Kingdom in the early 1950s, he befriended King Hussein, who was studying there. In 1953 Hussein appointed al-Mulki to be prime minister of Jordan. He was dismissed in 1954 after his liberal policies caused riots throughout the country.

Abdelraouf al-Rawabdeh was Prime Minister of Jordan from 4 March 1999 until 19 June 2000, a leading political figure from the north city of Irbid in Jordan.

Menippus of Gadara was a Cynic satirist. The Menippean satire genre is named after him. His works, all of which are lost, were an important influence on Varro and Lucian, who ranks Menippus with Antisthenes, Diogenes, and Crates as among the most notable of the Cynics.
