Witold Woyda was a Polish fencer who won four Olympic medals in the foil between 1964 and 1972, including two gold medals at the 1972 Summer Olympics. He was named the Polish Sportspersonality of the Year for 1972 by readers of Przegląd Sportowy. Born in Poznań, he immigrated to the United States in the late 1970s, settling in Bronxville, New York, and worked for an Italian packaging company. He had lung cancer for two years prior to his death at his Bronxville home at age 68, five days shy of turning 69.

Szymon Jerzy Ziółkowski is a retired Polish hammer thrower and an Olympic gold medal winner from Sydney 2000. He also won a gold medal at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton with a career best throw of 83.38 metres, and two silvers at the 2005 and 2009 editions in Helsinki and Berlin respectively.

Theodore Roszak was a Polish-American sculptor and painter. He was born in Posen, Prussia, now Poznań, Poland, as a son of Polish parents, and emigrated to the United States at the age of two. From 1925 to 1926 he studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, In 1930 he won the Logan Medal of the Arts, then moved to New York City to take classes at the National Academy of Design with George Luks and at Columbia University, where he studied logic and philosophy.

Renata Dancewicz is a Polish actress and member of the Polish Bridge Union. In 1988 she graduated from the 1st Mikołaj Kopernik High School in Lubin. In 2006 Dancewicz danced in the Taniec z Gwiazdami.

Ludwig Philipp Scharwenka was a German composer and teacher of music. He was the older brother of Xaver Scharwenka.

David Lubin was a merchant and agriculturalist. He was pivotal in founding the International Institute of Agriculture in 1908, in Rome.

Judah Loew ben Bezalel, also called Rabbi Loew – widely known to scholars of Judaism as the Maharal of Prague or simply The Maharal, the Hebrew acronym of "Moreinu Ha-Rav Loew" – was an important Talmudic scholar, Jewish mystic, and philosopher who, for most of his life, served as a leading rabbi in the cities of Mikulov in Moravia and Prague in Bohemia.
